About Me

NICE TO MEET YOU

Born and bred in Preston, Lancashire (home of the largest bus station in the UK), I am a friendly, hard-working (and pretty obsessive) book lover. Luckily for me, this has translated into a marketing career where I have had the opportunity to work on an array of amazing campaigns for some fantastic publishers in the academic, Higher Education, and trade sectors (Oxford University Press, Saraband, Raintree, and UCLan Publishing, just to name a few!) I graduated with a first class in English Language and Literature from Merton College, Oxford, in 2021, and a distinction in my vocational Masters in Publishing at the University of Central Lancashire in 2022.

Outside of marketing, I have enjoyed working as an English tutor for KS3, GCSE and A Level students online, where I got to inflict an affinity for spelling, grammar, and reading for pleasure onto pupils from a range of interesting backgrounds. I have a slight obsession with stringed instruments (owning 2 ukuleles, both an acoustic and electric guitar, a banjo, and a banjolele at last count), and also my ginger tom cat, George (pictured). When not ranting about books, I’m usually ranting about politics, activism, or slightly crap reality TV.

I am a strong advocate for increasing publishing accessibility and arts and culture career opportunities to those like me in the North or elsewhere outside the traditional London bubble, and am I always happy to chat! You can get in touch here.
